T Entry Tax |

Article BY:Janardhan Prasad D V S
Imposition of Entry tax on transport vehicles from AP is ill conceived. 30 Lakh Andhras ( including 5 lakh Andhra muslims ) are still living in Hyderabad.
Moreover, Hyderabad is still capital city of Andhra State. Imposing of tax on incoming vehicles carrying goods and passengers sends a message that Andhras are denied access to their present capital - Hyderabad. Telangana is not a separate country to deny access to Andhras who have their capital at Hyderabad.
Present Andhra Pradesh is not a separate Country to build its own capital immediately.
Andhras did not opt for division. The letter given by TDP leader Chandra has no constitutional value. He was not a CM at that time. AP assembly did not give consent for the division. The issue is not about taxation and increase of cost of goods but denial of Andhras' rights to access their capital. This amounts to subversion of Law on division of AP.
Delhi must be enjoying the tangle well. But Delhi must not ignore a fact that Delhi has divided the Sate of AP against the will of Andhras. It ruined the life chances of millions of Andhras who look at Hyderabad for jobs. For 60 years Hyderabad is developed as Capital of AP.
Money that was generated in Andhra area pooled into Hyderabad for the last 30 Years. No one can compensate the loss being incurred by present youth and future generations because of Tughluq decision of Delhi in dividing AP. Curse of Andhras would act as virus in disintegration of Indian Union. Division of AP is the beginning of end of Indian Union.
This letter was written by me in response to a news item, " T entry tax to hit AP hard ", dt. 29.3.15 in Times of India. Travelling as well as transportation of goods from Andhra Pradesh to Telangana is set to become a very costly affair from April 1 as the TRS government has decided to levy tax on all stage carriers, private vehicles and goods carriers.Times of India
