Hyderabad was capital of Deccan Subah as part of the Moghul Empire. In 1831 Nizam sold away Northern Circars ( Northern Coastal Districts of AP ) for a cash of Rs. 1.66.66.666/- plus military services to the British merchants.
Salabat Jang ceded Nijam patnam ,Machilipatnam and Kondapalli to the East India Co. of the British on 14.05.1759 . In 1800 Nizam ceded Kadapah , Karnool, Ananthapur and Bellari to the British in lieu of Military service by the British.
So, History shows that Coastal Andhra districts have payed well in the past for the development Erstwhile State of Nizam and of course for the richness and luxury of the Nizams.
( Apropos Madhu Yashki 's ( a MP ) deriding comment at MPs from non Telangana regions who met Sri Krishna committee , which is probing the present day political crisis in the State of Andhra Pradesh .)(12.09.2010 )
Madhu Yashki’s unpleasant comment stating that Coastal Andhra MPs have fattened their belles by drinking Gandipet waters of Hyderabad speaks volumes of his state of mind and fallen democratic values.
It also shows how much respect that he pays as Member of Parliament of India , to provisions of Constitution of India regarding One Country and One Citizenship ideal.
If the Rhetoric of Demagoguery of Separate Telanganaists are allowed to continue further All India spirit would certainly gets eroded not only in Andhra Pradesh but also across the Country of India, i.e., Bharat.
Madhu Yashki might be relishing drinking Gandipet waters because the Dam was built under the aegis of Nizam of Hyderabad.
For the very same reason , now onwards , he may stop drinking the Gandipet waters if he comes to know of the fact that the Dam was not built by Telangana Engineer but by a Coastal Andhra Engineer.
He must be Surprised to know the fact that Gandipet ( Osman Sagar Dam ) and Hussain Sagar Dam ( Tank Bund ) were designed and built by Sri Mokshagundam Visweswaraya who was brought from outside Telangana by Nizam.

Sri M Visweswaraiah hails from Kolar district of Southern Andhra Pradesh. ( Kolar predominantly inhabited by Telugus went to the State of Karnataka during Reorganization of States in 1956 ). Among many projects across India Krishnarajsagar Dam of Brindavan gardens fame in Mysore was also built by Sri M Visweswaraya for Mysore Maharajah.
And more over the money that was spent on such projects developed by Nizam was contributed by people of Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema , Nellore and Chittore districts indirectly for two centuries. |
Nizam was the First ( One of the ) Indian ruler(s) to sign Wellesley’s Subsidiary Alliance in which the Indian King who signs such alliance becomes permanent ally of the British.
Essence of Subsidiary Alliance is that the British maintain sufficient Military to guard against external aggression , if any.

Military expenditure was met by revenues form surrendered districts by the Nizam.
Revenues from remaining lands in his possession thus became surplus .History of such selling , leasing and surrender of various districts are as follows:
Salabat Jang ceded Nijam patnam ,Machilipatnam and Kondapalli to the East India Co. of the British on 14.05.1759 . In 1800 Nizam ceded Kadapah , Karnool, Ananthapur and Bellari to the British in lieu of Military service by the British.
And when Nizam’s Soldeirs stationed at Gollapudi revolted for want of Salaries he sent His Dewan to Rajahmundry to reach an agreement - to lease out Coastal districts - with the Company. And as a result on 12 th November 1766 Nizam leased out Circar districts – Rajahmundry , Eluru, Mustafanagar ( Kondapalli ) , Chikakole for an annual lease of Rs. 9.00 lakh per anum.
